Dr. Mark Mahn, A.Mus, D.D.S.


Dr. Mark MahnDr. Mahn graduated from the University of Toronto in 1978 with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery.  In 1979 he founded the Paris Dental Centre.  The same year he developed and began the dental division of the Willet Hospital, where treatment of small children and handicapped patients was done under general anaesthetic and where he was chief of dentistry for 15 years.  He still continues this work at Brantford General Hospital, where he recently completed his term as chief of dentistry. 

In the past he has served on the practice management committee of the Ontario Dental Association and as president of the Brant County Dental Society. 

Dr. Mahn loves music and holds an Associate of Music diploma (concert piano).  He has a wife, Lanny, and three grown children.  The eldest, Jonathan, is a dentist with Paris Dental Centre.

 

 Dr. Jonathan Mahn, B.Sc. Hons, D.D.S.


Dr. Jonathan MahnDr. Jonathan M. Mahn (Dr. Jon) joined the Paris Dental Centre in July of 2008.  He is a general dentist who has completed additional training in the administration of Oral and Intravenous Sedation, as certified by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. 

Jon majored in Biology at McMaster University, where he graduated with Honours, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons) degree.  He then continued his training at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree.

Jon was fortunate to be accepted as a General Practice Resident at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto where he received additional training and certification in Intravenous Sedation, Oral Sedation, Nitrous Oxide administration, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).  Here, Jon also had the opportunity to observe and assist in the O.R. on oral and maxillofacial surgery cases and alongside various dental specialists in the Sunnybrook Dental Clinic. 

 

Jonathan volunteered working in the summer at the Children’s Clinic at the University of Western Ontario where he first had the opportunity to work extensively with children. As part of his Residency, he also volunteered in the Sandy Lake Reserve, Sioux Lookout Zone, Ontario where he spent 3 weeks providing dentistry to the local population who does not have a local dentist.  Here, in addition to performing an extensive amount of treatment to children and adults in need, Jon was able to assist children in the local schools, educating them about the importance of regular oral hygiene and a proper diet. 

 

Jonathan hopes to pursue future opportunities providing dentistry in under-serviced communities both in Canada and abroad.  He currently enjoys traveling, baseball, basketball, tennis, weight lifting, and has a thorough interest in music.  Jon was formerly a pianist for Flattstreet – a jazz/funk sextet, and the McMaster Big Band and Jazz Ensemble.  He has completed his Grade 10 piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music.  Jonathan has lived within the Paris surroundings for most of his life and has been playing baseball for the Brant Cardinals in recent summers. 

 

Dr. Jon is currently very excited for his future with Paris Dental Centre and is currently treating the children at Smile CityHe performs treatment with and without Oral Sedation and Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) and offers treatment with General Anesthetic at Brantford General Hospital for those with greater needs.  Jon also treats adults in Paris Dental Centre and administers Oral Sedation, Nitrous Oxide and IV sedation for Dentistry While You Drowse for anxious adults.

 

 

 

Dr. James Gillespie, D.D.S.


   

Dr. James Gillespie

Dr. Gillespie graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in 1976 and spent the next two years in private practice in Mississauga, Ontario.  In 1978, Dr. Gillespie joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Dental Officer which was followed by a General Practice of Dentistry at the Vancouver General Hospital.  

Beginning in 1984, Dr. Gillespie spent two years as a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois.  This residency included a six month anaesthesiology rotation, on completion of which he returned to practice general dentistry in Brantford for a short time.

In December 1986, Dr. Gillespie was invited to join the staff at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario as Assistant Registrar, a position which he held until becoming the Director of Investigations on 1995.

One year later, Dr. Gillespie left the college to pursue further training and qualification related to Intravenous Conscious Sedation.  This included successful completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training and American Dental Society of Anaesthesiology training in conscious sedation. 

Late in 1996, Dr. Gillespie returned to practice dentistry at the Paris Dental Centre, where he is performing Intravenous Conscious Sedation in strict compliance with the Anaesthetic and Sedation Guidelines of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.  

 

Dr. Puneet Bath, B.D.S., D.D.S.


Dr. Puneet Bath

Dr. Puneet Bath graduated as Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Toronto with honours.  Dr. Bath has 16 years of clinical and academic experience which also includes a degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery from India in 1998. 

Dr. Bath has actively volunteered in various organizations like the Polycultural Immigration and Community Service Centre where presentations were given to address the preventive needs of the immigrant population. 

Dr. Bath was also a student volunteer at Mt. Sinai where she observed and assisted with various procedures and in the management of children with special needs.  Dr. Bath is excited for her new home at Paris Dental Centre and looks forward to treating both children and adults.

Apart for her passion for dentistry,  Dr. Bath enjoys nature and travelling.
